Primaries ad infinitim

Is it not time to junk the party methods of selecting nominees for president? If we have not outgrown party politics, perhaps it is time we did. Florida and Michigan should be able to set their primaries for whenever they want, given the current system. This year has been a mess, and we aren't done yet. Who says that a few guys in power should call the shots?

How about having a national primary weekend? Let the people of America vote on a Saturday and a Sunday for a candidate of their choice by declaring their party selection and selecting a declared candidate from that party's ballot. If no candidate gets 50% of the vote within their party, then there should be a weekend run-off of the top party candidates to name the nominee for that particular party. We could skip the conventions.

James Madison mistrusted political parties. He was right about church and state, and maybe it is time to trust the electorate to choose a party's nominee rather than the current power brokers.

Even Britney Speers or Paris Hilton could do better. What do you think?

Whooee, Arizona is Safe from Same Sex Marriage Almost

The Arizona House ran out of real problems this week so they propose a constitutional amendment "Only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in this state."
Thank Heaven, my 52 year marriage can be saved! We have such astute people who have solved all such matters as the state budget, economic downturn, water conservation, child and elderly abuse, crime, public transportation, the housing crash, brokers licensing, education, border security, energy, you name it, and now these people have turned their attention to hormone levels and to watching out for the sanctity of our marriages. Aren't we all glad we voted for such wonderful representation, or did we? What do you think?
